ORGANISATIONS
Cambridge AWiSE is a regional network for women in science, engineering and technology (SET) in both industry and academia and for women who wish to return to a SET career after a break. We bring together women with common interests and act as a source of support, information and inspiration. We aim to help women stay in SET and make the most of their careers. We provide regular networking opportunities, information through our website and newsletter and access to the MentorSET mentoring scheme.
Although based in Cambridge, they welcome anyone from the Eastern Region. Cambridge AWiSE members come from all career stages, from Undergraduates to Company Directors and Professors (and beyond!).

Mums in Science is a website specifically developed for women who are mothers working in a scientific career . It is a portal and forum for women to discuss issues that concern them, from the lighthearted to the very serious.
Women in Technology started in 2005 with one goal in mind: to help women build successful and satisfying careers in the IT industry.
Women in technology host and co-host regular networking events, both formal and informal, for female IT professionals to meet and discuss the issues facing the industry. And they offer in-depth information about the industry, including further career training courses available and the latest news and analysis.
They work with companies to put diversity at the forefront of their recruitment and employment policies, in part by helping them recruit more female technologists. They provide a complete recruitment service, offer a dedicated online IT job board, regularly host and co-host networking events, run personal development and career orientated training courses and provide in-depth information about key matters affecting the IT industry and the people who work within it.
They help job seekers make their next career move and can offer advice on getting back into work after a career break, putting together a CV and handling interviews successfully. They have adverts for the best jobs with the UK’s leading companies, for women seeking employment at every level from graduate to CIO. They also provide access to free industry networking events, to forums and groups made up of like minded people and to their weekly e-Newsletter.

women@CL provides local, national and international activities for women engaged in computing research and academic leadership. The purpose of the women@CL network is to put in place a positive action programme for women in computing research, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary research, leadership and enterprise. We focus on establishing a model that is sustainable and replicable in any department within a complex institution. Our programme consists of a variety of local activities such as women@CL lunch talks that provide role models to our students and early career women, and our national and international activities include events like career development workshops at major conferences, regional technical meetings, and senior women leadership summits. We forge formal connections with existing bodies with similar goals. We also promote successful women and projects by placing articles, profiles and interviews in all forms of media.
